Flu Treatment
Flumadine
Flumadine (rimantadine hydrochloride) is a synthetic
antiviral drug available as a 100 mg film-coated tablet. Flumadine is indicated for
the prophylaxis and treatment of illness caused by various strains of influenza A virus
in adults. Rimantadine HCI is the generic form of Flumadine.
Tamiflu
Tamfilu (Tam-ih-flew) is indicated for the treatment of influenza
who have had symptoms for no more than 2 days. Tamiflu belongs to a group of medicines called
neuraminidase inhibitors. These medications attack the influenza virus and prevent it from spreading
inside your body. Tamiflu treats flu at its source by attacking the virus that causes the flu,
rather than simply masking symptoms.
